Surgical treatment of lagophthalmos and trophic keratitis after large vestibulocochlear nerve’s neurinomas removing

The results of surgical treatment of complications after large vestibulocochlear nerve’s neurinomas removing at 372 patients were analyzed.
Facial nerve injury was observed at 102 (27.2%) patients, in all cases facial nerve’s neurotization using accessorial nerve was performed.
For complete or partial eyelids closing and eye’s membranes trophic’s improvement we used several methods: air introduction into upper and lower eyelids till their complete closing — at 57 patients, partial blepharorrhaphia for palpebral fissure narrowing — at 38, orbicular muscle remuscularization — at 3, remuscularization and neurotization — at 8.
The treatment let avoid rough trophic disorders in eye’s membranes and vision’s function.
