Oculomotor disorders and their postoperative treatment in cases of extramedular posterior fossa tumors
Keywords:
oculomotor disturbances, extracerebral tumors, posterior cranial fossa, rehabilitation treatmentAbstract
Specific relationship between extramedular posterior fossa tumors and the roots of oculomotor nerves during surgical treatment were studied in 606 patients. Oculomotor disorders (OMD) were found in 162 cases postoperatively. Regularities of OMD manifestations were analyzed as dependent on tumor localization and histostructure. Differentiated combined restorative treatment using medicamental and physiotherapeutic methods were proposed. Due to this treatment, complete restoration of oculomotor functions was achieved in 92.3% of patients in postoperative period.References
