The authors analyzed the surgical treatment results in 3 children with third ventricle colloid cysts. The patients were operated in the Institute of neurosurgery from 1994 to 2004. Clinical signs, CT and MRI diagnostic criteria were discussed. The transcortical-transventricular approach for the cyst ablation was used. No complications after the surgery were observed. The transcortical-transventricular approach is effective and safe for colloid cysts of the third ventricle ablating.
