Correlation between otoneurologic and radio-computed-tomographic findings at temporal bone pyramid fracture in acute period of craniocerebral trauma

The findings of 183 patients examination with clinically diagnosed fractures of the middle cranial fossa base (temporal bone pyramid) in acute period of craniocerebral trauma (CCT), have been treated in clinic of neurotrauma, were analyzed.
Objective otoneurological examination of patients with temporal bone pyramid fractures in acute period of CCT let to diagnose the fracture, that was not found at X-ray studies.
Most informative neuroimaging method to diagnose fracture of cranial base bones is a spiral computed tomographic scanning with subsequent 3D- and MPR-reconstruction, as well as a high resolution temporal bone pyramid study.
