Abstract

Education. It became one of the first in the world which started educate neurosurgeons.

The founder of the department was Professor A.I. Arutyunov. Then it was headed by G.A. Pedachenko and N.E. Polishchuk. During its existence, more than 90 % of Ukrainian neurosurgeons were trained at the department, thousands of articles, hundreds of monographs were published, dozens of doctoral and master’s theses were defended.

The Department of Neurosurgery is an integral part of the history of the development of neurosurgery in Ukraine. All employees hope that the department will continue to carry out its obligations to the neurosurgical community and the country for the training of qualified personnel.
