Surgical treatment of patients with the carpal tunnel syndrome

Abstract

Results of 19 patients with the carpal tunnel syndrome observation and treatment are analyzed.

Such clinical symptoms as hypoesthesia in the middle nerve innervation area, paresis of hand muscles that get their innervation from middle nerve fibres prevailed.

Surgical treatment was performed in all cases: neurolysis and decompression of middle nerve in the carpal channel area, dissection of carpal copulas, and implantation of electrodes in the purpose for electrostimulation.

Positive results, as partial renewal of sensitiveness, pain syndrome disappearing or pain reduction and movements volume increasing were obtained already in the early postoperative period.
